The Harari Congress in Diaspora (HCD) announces progress underway as planned.
To date, three Harari Congress Sub-Committees; IT, Constitutional and PR/Communications at work!

April 20, 2008: The Temporary Coordinator team is pleased to announce that progress is underway as planned towards achieving the goal of officially declaring the establishment of the first Harari Congress in Diaspora (HCD) in Dallas, Texas on July, 2008. The demanding initial phase of awareness campaign, membership drive and on-line registration of members has been successfully completed. Currently the Congress is devising a plan to actively promote more membership among Harari Communities in Diaspora.

Despite minor technical challenges, and in one of its kind on-line formal paltalk meeting, the Congress has successfully conducted its first General Meeting on March 09, 2008. As announced, the Congress will hold its second general meeting on April 26, 2008.

To strengthen its internal organizational structure, various meetings have been held by PR and communications committee, Constitutional Committee and IT team. The PR and Communications committee, with its eight member team has conducted its first meeting this week. The team is on the planning stage to kick-start its public relations campaign soon.

The Constitutional Committee, comprised of seven, held meetings on March 29, 08 & April 12, 08, elected its Committee Chairs and made significant progress in processing, article by article, the draft by-law presented. The committee is scheduled to carry out its third meeting on April 26, 08.

On the IT front, the team has been working diligently accommodating all activities on Paltalk since the inception of the Congress. The team has successfully set-up a web site, opened a number of pal talk rooms to accommodate committee meetings, and, most recently assisted members to make use of Google file sharing system between committee members. Currently, the team is working hard on enhancing its support capacity and structure to train Committee Members to use all available features of cyber technology.

The Congress encourages fellow Hararis in Diaspora to join a patriotic effort and stand by our Nation.

A journey of a thousand mile starts with one step
